Mehmet Anakök, who was unable to devote time to playing the drums, an interest of his since childhood, due to his busy working life, took lessons and started playing the drums in a short time, and founded a music group called “Baba ve Oğulları” (Father and Sons) with his children.
He repaired antique radios and turntables, another passion of his, that he collected over the years from all over the world, while remaining faithful to their original structures, and managed to get most of them working.
The turntables and lamp radios with their wooden furniture now mourn him in silence, waiting to be turned into a museum in time.
Mehmet Anakök, despite the intensity of his professional life, also devoted time to non-governmental organizations and served as a member of the SAMDEF Board of Directors and Deputy Chairman for many years.
The late Mehmet Anakök, who had begun the establishment of the 19 Mayıs Foundation shortly before his death, did not live to see the creation of the Foundation. The Foundation, which was established in 2019, is determined to continue on its path to continue the services consistent with the purpose of its establishment with respect to his cherished memory.
Mehmet Anakök married Aylin Özgü Tokmak in 1991 and has two children, Onur and Ozan. We will always remember our Founder Mehmet Anakök, who passed away on August 13, 2018 after succumbing to an unrelenting illness, with love and compassion.
With respect to his memory…
